Fairytales DO come true....in the Lord's GREAT timing!! At the end of November 2009, our head pastor, Dr. Bowman, asked the congregation to think of an impossible prayer request. He asserted that since "nothing shall be impossible with the Lord" we all should take those requests to God and watch Him work. Seated in the choir loft not yet having met, Paul and I both told the Lord how much we wanted Mr./Mrs. Right (in my "control-freak" fashion, I asked the Lord to give me Mr. Right under my Christmas tree...Paul graciously did not give the Lord a timeframe).
Less than a month after this prayer we were on our first date (lunch after church)...Day 1...
Day 5 we said "I love you"...
Day 7 we discussed that we knew we wanted to marry one another (and more importantly, the Lord had confirmed this for each of us)...
Day 14 we headed to Dallas for Christmas and to visit our families...
Day 19 we were ENGAGED...Christmas Day!!
March 13, 2010 (Day 98) we became husband and wife!! Amen to the Lord of "impossible" prayer requests!!
People are often shocked when they hear our story but if we serve a God that created the Heavens and Earth in 6 days (and then took a well deserved rest on Day 7), it just makes perfect sense that He allowed us to marry in 98 days. We don't know what He'll do with all the days to come but we do know that we'll keep counting because it reminds us of how wonderfully we are loved as we watch things unfold in HIS TIMING!!
